About

Traditional Karate Arts Canada is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the practice of Shotokan Karate and practical self-defence in Oakville. Led by Chief Instructor Kim Dunn Shihan, a highly experienced and accomplished teacher with over 52 years of experience, the school focuses on instilling the core values of humility, respect, and honour in its students and the community.

Karate training at TKAC is open to everyone, regardless of age or physical condition. The practice of Karate is known to strengthen the mind, develop composure, deepen insight, and build discipline and confidence. Additionally, it improves coordination, agility, reflexes, stamina, and overall health for practitioners of all ages.

At TKAC, there are no contracts, allowing beginners to explore Karate training without pressure. The school offers classes for adults, children aged 8-12, and youngsters aged 5-7. Upon registering for a three-month trial offer, new students receive a free karate uniform to start their training journey.

The goal of Traditional Karate Arts Canada is to produce exceptional students and instructors by mentoring and engaging members to be their best. The school prepares students for black belt advancement and strives to lead by example in evolving and propagating the art of Karate. Kim Dunn Shihan and the team at TKAC welcome the opportunity to meet with prospective students and showcase the challenging and rewarding experience of traditional Karate practice.
