Sawmill Golf Course is thrilled to announce the Sawmill Junior Experience's "TRY Golf U9/U13" program designed for young golf enthusiasts looking to get a handle on the game. This program is perfect for beginners or those with minimal experience, providing a solid foundation to build upon. Participants can look forward to engaging in team-based activities to improve their fundamental skills and grow in confidence. The curriculum covers key aspects of golf such as putting, chipping, pitching, and full swings, along with essential elements like grip, stance, and posture. Students will also learn about golf fundamentals, rules, and etiquette, all while emphasizing safety and fun. The experience includes playing the par 3 holes at the driving range for practical exposure to the course. To advance to the next level, "LEARN Golf," participants must display proficiency in setup fundamentals and showcase their skills in putting, chipping, and full swings on multiple course holes. The program runs for 11 weeks with twice-weekly sessions featuring group lessons and playing time on the par 3 holes. Every Thursday evening, players can enjoy a game day on Sawmill's par 3 course to put their skills to the test. With a student-to-coach ratio of 8:1, each participant receives personalized attention from experienced instructors. The program is divided into two age groups: U9 (2015/2016/2017) and U13 (2012/2013/2014/2015), allowing players to practice and learn alongside peers of similar age and skill levels. Instructors for the program include Brody Whetham, a PGA of Canada Class A Professional and Master Kids Coach, and Kevin Niznik, a PGA of Canada Class A Professional and skilled golf coach. Each participant will receive a Sawmill Junior Golf hat, and all sessions are held under professional guidance on various course areas. Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to set your child on the path to golfing success with precision and skill at Sawmill Golf Course.
