UM Climbing Wall

The UA Climbing Wall, located at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, is an indoor rock climbing gym for climbers of all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner looking to try out a new activity or an experienced climber training for your next outdoor project, our two climbing walls offer a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone.

Climbing is not only a great way to challenge yourself both mentally and physically, but it also helps to develop flexibility and strength while fostering a sense of community among climbers. Our Climbing Coordinator is available to provide additional information and answer any questions you may have.

The UA Climbing Wall offers open climb times for individuals to come and enjoy the facilities. Climbing fees can be purchased at the Active Living Centre customer service desk or online. Additionally, we offer birthday party packages for a unique and memorable celebration for your child.

For those interested in private bookings, our climbing walls are available for school groups, corporate events, and team-building activities. Instruction and courses are also available for climbers looking to improve their skills. Courses can be customized and scheduled based on availability.

The Climbing Club at the Fort Garry campus provides a social outlet for climbers to share their passion with others. The club is bouldering-focused, with periodic access to the Climbing Wall in the Active Living Centre. UM students are encouraged to join the club to promote student participation and leadership within the group.

In 2023, the U of Them climbing group was formed by three climbing members to further promote a welcoming and inclusive community at the climbing wall. The bouldering room continues to be a space where climbers can come together and enjoy the sport. Join the U of Them group every Monday for a fun and supportive climbing experience.
