Unfold Dance & Drama

Unfold Dance & Drama is a prestigious dance school, drama school, and performing arts group located in Halesowen, West Midlands. Led by the talented and experienced Dance Director, Laura Millward, Unfold provides high quality classes and performance opportunities for young people, students, and emerging artists.

At Unfold Dance & Drama, a team of specialist artists runs weekly dance and drama sessions that are accessible to all. These sessions aim to develop dance techniques, creative confidence, performance skills, self-confidence, and creative development. The school offers a range of classes for various age groups, from Junior Dance and Drama Groups to Youth Dance and Drama Groups.

The Junior Dance Groups and Junior Drama Groups cater to the budding dancers and young dramatists in the borough. These classes aim to develop their skills in dance technique, creative expression, self-confidence, and performance technique. Through these classes, students have the opportunity to showcase their talent and progress at platforms throughout the Midlands.

Unfold also offers exclusive training and performance opportunities for those who demonstrate exceptional talent and commitment. The Unfold Semi-Professional Groups, including Unfold Dance Theatre and Unfold Theatre Company, are invite-only and provide the best technical development training, performance, and choreography opportunities. Led by Laura Millward and an ensemble of professional actors, these groups cater to dance, drama, and theatre graduates as well as new and developing artists in the area.

For the youth who have a passion for drama or dance, Unfold offers weekly Youth Drama and Youth Dance sessions. These sessions aim to test and develop their performance, creative, and technical skills. The students learn the language and etiquette of theatre and have numerous opportunities to showcase their talent.

Unfold Mini Dance groups, held in Dudley and Halesowen, are specifically designed for young dancers aged 4 years and above. These classes focus on teaching new skills in movement, storytelling through dance, and expression, while also building fitness, strength, and movement memory.

In addition to their classes and groups, Unfold Dance & Drama is actively involved in delivering work in many Black Country primary and secondary schools. Through their Work in Schools programme, they aim to provide access to high-quality dance and drama education to young people across the region.
