About
David would like to extend a warm invitation to everyone in the local sports community to visit University Parks in Oxford. Nestled in the heart of the city, University Parks has been a green haven since the University transformed the land in 1864.
Accessible nearly every day until dusk (except for Christmas Eve), the park is a spot for leisurely walks, picnics, and even some spontaneous sports. Whether you're into cricket, lacrosse, tennis, football, or rugby, there's a bit of everything depending on the season. There's also the chance to catch a game of Quidditch – a delight for Harry Potter fans!
The park features a stunning variety of trees and plants, with the River Cherwell offering a tranquil backdrop on its north-east side. Norham Gardens to the north and Parks Road to the west surround the park, adding to its charm and beauty.
David would like to remind everyone to follow the park rules to ensure everyone's safety. Currently, the gate connecting the cycle path to Mesopotamia is closed due to a fault, but rest assured, efforts are underway to get it fixed soon.
For the latest updates, you can check out the park's website and social media channels. Whether it’s tree management initiatives or any closure notices, all the necessary information to plan your visit is readily available.
David hopes you enjoy all that University Parks has to offer, making the most of its tranquil atmosphere and the myriad of activities available. It's more than just a park; it's a slice of Oxford's history and community. So come down, explore, and make some lasting memories.
