Uswim! Is Manchester's leading outdoor swimming facility and open water specialists. Known as the Northwest's No. 1 open water experts, Uswim!
Offers a variety of supervised swims, top events, and expert coaching to cater to all levels of swimmers.
The facility hosts a wide range of events throughout the year, including the Boundary Park Tri & Aquabike, the Greater Manchester Swim, the Summer Solstice Night Swim, and the Cheshire '12 hour' Swim Challenge, among others. These events provide swimmers with exciting challenges and opportunities to test their skills in open water.
One of the highlighted events at Uswim! Is the Boundary Park Tri & Aquabike, which takes place in Cheshire. This event features a 750m open water swim, a 55 km bike ride, and a flat 10 km run. Participants can choose to compete individually or as part of a relay team of two to three people.
The course takes participants through the picturesque Cheshire countryside on fast and flat routes. With limited entry sizes, this event ensures a friendly and personalised experience for all participants. Medals and treats are also included to make it a truly memorable triathlon experience.
The event timings for the Boundary Park Tri & Aquabike include registration and transition opening from 7:30-8:30 am at Allostock Village Hall. A briefing is held at 8:50 am at the Lakeside. The first wave starts at 9:00 am and consists of the Aquabike, Female Tri, and Relay Tri participants. The second wave, consisting of Male Tri participants, starts at 10:15 am.
Presentations are held as soon as participants finish the race.
Convenient and free car parking is available at Allostock Village Hall, which is just a half-mile away from the Boundary venue. Competitors can drop off their kit boxes or bags at the Boundary before parking at Allostock and walking back to the race start.
For environmental considerations, competitors are encouraged to use their own brightly-coloured swim caps. If needed, swim caps will be provided at registration. Race numbers are provided at registration as well. Wetsuits are compulsory for the event due to water temperatures typically ranging from 10-12C.
Competitors are advised to come prepared with all necessary clothing, refreshments, and nutrition for the event, which can take between 2–4 hours to complete. A properly fitted and tested bike, wetsuit, and goggles are also essential. While there are no motorbike referees on the bike course, participants are encouraged to carry a mobile phone for added reassurance.
Safety is a priority, and the event promotes draught-legal biking for the participants' well-being. With the expertise and guidance of Uswim's experienced coaches and event organisers, participants can rest assured they are in capable hands.
At Uswim! The focus is on health, wellbeing, and building a community of open water enthusiasts. Whether you are a seasoned swimmer or just starting, Uswim! Offers a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone to enjoy the open water experience.
