

Welcome to Vale Judo Club! Located in Oakham, Vale Judo Club (VJC) is a not-for-profit judo club dedicated to providing recreational and competitive judo classes to the communities of Rutland, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, and Nottinghamshire.
At VJC, we follow the principles of judo, which is known as “the gentle way” or “. ” We believe in fostering a safe and inclusive environment where individuals of all ages and backgrounds can learn and develop their judo skills.
Our club offers a range of classes suitable for different age groups and experience levels. On Tuesdays, the Kanos class runs from 18:30 to 19:30, providing beginners with a solid foundation in judo techniques. Following that, the Juniors & Seniors class takes place from 19:30 to 20:30, catering to more advanced students looking to refine their skills. For those who wish to engage in randori (sparring) and open mat sessions, we offer a session from 20:30 to 21:00, depending on the number of attendees and coach availability.
On Saturdays, we have similar class timings. The Kanos class commences at 09:30 and ends at 10:30, providing our youngest members with a fun and engaging introduction to judo. Following that, the Juniors & Seniors class runs from 10:30 to 11:30, allowing participants to further develop their technique and gain confidence on the mat. Lastly, the randori and open mat session takes place from 11:30 to 12:00, providing room for students to practise their skills in a more free-form setting.
Vale Judo Club is run by a dedicated team of experienced coaches who are passionate about judo and committed to helping every member reach their full potential. Our coaches possess extensive knowledge of the sport and are trained in creating a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for all participants.
