The Vancouver Female Ice Hockey Association is a thriving club based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Our club is committed to providing opportunities for girls and women to learn, develop, and play the sport of ice hockey. We are proud to be located on the Traditional unceded Territories of the xmkym|Musqueam, Swxw7mesh|Squamish & slilwta |Tsleil-Waututh Nations, and we strive to honour and respect the land on which we play.
At VFIHA, our focus is on creating a positive and inclusive environment where players of all skill levels can come together to enjoy the game of hockey. Our dedicated coaches and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that each player has the opportunity to reach their full potential and achieve their goals on and off the ice.
We offer a variety of programs, including development teams, recreational leagues, and competitive rep teams for girls of all ages. Our club hosts a range of events throughout the year, including tournaments, clinics, and fundraisers to support our players and the local community.
One of the highlights of our club is the Indigenous Ice Hockey Referee Clinic, which aims to increase participation and representation of Indigenous youth in officiating. We are also proud to introduce our Indigenous jersey crest, designed by Debra Sparrow, as a symbol of our commitment to reconciliation and respect for Indigenous culture.
