The Vaughan Basketball Association (VBA) is a non-profit organization located in Maple, Ontario, affiliated with the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA). The club is dedicated to helping youth of all ages establish and maintain a healthy lifestyle through the sport of basketball. With a focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, VBA provides a supportive and encouraging environment for players to grow both on and off the court.
One of the signature programs offered by VBA is the Future Stars Basketball (FSB) program. Geared towards players looking to elevate their game, FSB provides a comprehensive skills development program throughout the year, as well as high-level camps during the summer months. With a focus on fundamental areas such as dribbling, shooting, offensive and defensive strategies, as well as strength and endurance training, FSB strives to help players reach their full potential.
For younger players aged 7-12, VBA offers the Future Stars Jr. Basketball program. This beginner-level program focuses on teaching the basics of basketball, including dribbling, shooting, defence, player positioning, and movement without the ball. The program is designed for non-rep players who want to develop their skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.
In addition to these development programs, VBA also runs a competitive and instructional House League for boys and girls aged 5-16. The league focuses on teaching fundamental skills, introducing team play concepts, and improving overall fitness levels. Coaches at VBA are committed to helping players develop both on and off the court, emphasizing important life skills such as self-esteem, discipline, commitment, teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.
Through participation in the House League, players have the opportunity to improve their self-confidence and potentially pursue their passion for basketball further by joining the Rep Vaughan Panthers Basketball Club teams.
