Victoria Hut

Welcome to Victoria Hut, located on the Whakapapa ski field of Mt Ruapehu in New Zealand. Previously unused and abandoned, Victoria Hut has been lovingly restored and is now open for accommodation year-round. With the ability to sleep 28 people, the hut offers a true ski-in ski-out experience, being situated right next to the Rock Gardens.

Purchased by Ski Patrol Ruapehu Incorporated, Victoria Hut has undergone extensive renovations over the past six months, thanks to the dedication and hard work of volunteers. Now in its second season of operation, the hut has been thoroughly tested and proven to be a fantastic accommodation option.

Victoria Hut features three north-facing bunk rooms, with a total of five double beds and 15 single beds. Bed bookings are made on a per person per night basis, allowing flexibility for individuals or larger groups. Members of Victoria Hut enjoy discounted rates, with adults paying $25 per night and children paying $15 per night. Guests who are not members pay $45 per night for adults and $30 per night for children.

Booking your stay at Victoria Hut is easy. Simply fill out the online booking form, checking the availability calendar for your desired dates. Once you have made your booking, transfer your payment to the provided bank account using your unique reference number from the calendar. Non-members must be booked by existing members.

Special deals are available for both members and non-members. First-time guests who have never stayed at Victoria Hut before can enjoy their first two nights at member rates. Subsequent nights and visits will be charged at non-member rates. Additionally, if you pay for four consecutive nights, you will receive the fifth night free, regardless of membership status.

When making bookings, certain rules and priorities apply. During weekends and school holidays, members can book at any time and can also book one non-member. Additional non-member bookings can be made by members 10 days before the start of the booking. Large group bookings may be possible, depending on the discretion of the booking officer.

For weekends and skiing consecutive days, a minimum of two nights must be booked.

At all other times, there are no booking restrictions or priorities. Bookings are confirmed once payment is received, although availability may differ from the calendar. Refunds are not available.
