Victorian Dance Academy School of Performing Arts

The Victorian Dance Academy School of Performing Arts, located in Mitcham, is a vibrant and dedicated dance school that offers a wide range of classes for children and teenagers. Their classes include Jazz, Tap, Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Musical Theatre/Song & Dance, Stretch, Strength & Technique, Lyrical, Acrobatics, Kinder dance programme, VCEDance, and Boyzone (Hip Hop and Tap).

The school prides itself on providing quality training in a friendly and caring environment. All of their teaching staff are qualified and dedicated to the profession of teaching dance to students of all ages. They have trained and worked professionally in their specialised dance styles, ensuring that they can pass on their passion for dance to the next generation of dancers at VDA.

VDA offers a safe dance environment with four fully equipped studios. They have a parent portal where parents can book trial classes for their children. Furthermore, they also offer ballet classes for kids and dance classes for kids in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs. Their VCE Dance classes are open to Year 10–12 students who are interested in pursuing dance as a subject.

The school also provides opportunities for students to participate in dance exams and competitions, as well as an annual performance showcase. Their younger students have the chance to perform in the Shining Stars Showcase, while their older students showcase their skills in the Annual VDA Concert held in November.

The Principal of the Victorian Dance Academy School of Performing Arts is Kerrie Fraser. Kerrie has over 40 years of dance training and experience in various dance styles including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, and Character. She is a professional dancer and choreographer who has performed for Disney Live and Walt Disney Special events both in Australia and overseas.
