The grand opening of the View Royal Bike Park, located in View Royal Park off Pheasant Lane, is scheduled for September 14 from 1pm-3pm. Rain or shine, attendees can enjoy ribbon cutting, cake, and bike skills training provided by The Cycling Co. , Vancouver Island's top mountain bike skills school. Led by former Canada Cup Mountain Bike Champion and National Team member, Adam Walker, The Cycling Co.
Offers skill instruction for riders from ages 8 to 80. Adam and his team will be providing a fun bike skills coaching session for all participants during the event.
The bike track features new track painting that indicates track direction, beginner route (green arrows), intermediate route (blue arrows), and track boundaries (red lines). Safety guidelines are in place to ensure a safe riding experience for all users. Updates and notices regarding the track's maintenance and closures are posted regularly to keep visitors informed.
Construction of the bike pump track began in July 2019 as part of the Town's commitment to promoting active and sustainable recreational activities. Through public consultation and feedback, the Town allocated funds to create a pump track that offers a unique and enjoyable riding experience for the community. The track is now paved, with crews working on final grading and painting to ensure safety for all riders.
