Walkerville Netball Club is a vibrant and growing sports club located in Adelaide, South Australia. Established in 2010, the club was founded by a group of country netballers who desired to play competitive netball in the city while maintaining a country atmosphere.
Since its inception, Walkerville Netball Club has experienced remarkable growth and is now one of the largest clubs in the Adelaide Metropolitan Netball Division. With a total of 32 teams across senior and junior divisions, the club offers a wide range of playing opportunities for both experienced players and beginners.
The club places great importance on player satisfaction and community involvement. Their values revolve around fostering a positive team environment and promoting good sportsmanship. Walkerville Netball Club is proud to maintain a strong affiliation with Walkerville Football Club.
For senior players, the club offers 18 teams that cater to different skill levels, ranging from the Adelaide Metropolitan Netball Division League to C4. While the top teams consist of former premier League and Reserves players, as well as seasoned country A grade netballers, every player is equally valued and supported regardless of their grade. Under the guidance of Head Coach Kate Semiz, the senior teams benefit from enthusiastic coaches and enjoy a vibrant social atmosphere.
In terms of junior netball, Walkerville Netball Club operates 14 teams across various age groups and skill levels. With teams in the Intermediate, Junior, Sub Junior, Primary, and Sub Primary grades, as well as a Net Set squad for ages 5-7, the club provides a comprehensive pathway for young netballers to develop their skills. Led by supportive coaches and directed by Sue Jones, the Juniors Coaching Director, the club is dedicated to nurturing the growth and passion of its junior players while fostering lifelong friendships.
As a club, Walkerville Netball Club values inclusivity and diversity. They acknowledge and pay respect to the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains as the traditional owners of the land on which they train and play. The club recognises the cultural heritage, spiritual beliefs, and ongoing importance of the land to the living Kaurna people. Additionally, they acknowledge and appreciate the contributions and essential role that Aboriginal people play within the netball and wider community.
