Warkworth Gamefish Club Inc

The Warkworth Gamefish Club Inc. is the Sportfishing Division of the Sandspit Yacht Club. With a steady core of around 300 members, the club is based at the SYC Clubrooms in Sandspit, located on the beautiful east coast, just 9 kilometres from Warkworth.

The club hosts three tournaments throughout the year. The first is the WWGFC One Base, which takes place at Great Barrier Island on Auckland Anniversary Weekend in January. The second tournament is the 10 kg Tournament, held on Queens Birthday Weekend in May/June. Finally, in November, the club holds a growing Ladies Only event.

The Warkworth Gamefish Club provides weighmasters in several locations, including Great Barrier Island, Matakana, Sandspit, Omaha, Leigh, and Warkworth. These volunteers play a crucial role in accurately weighing fish caught during competitions and events.
