Warlingham Archery Club

Warlingham Archery Club is a small and welcoming club located in Warlingham, New Zealand. Set in the picturesque surroundings of Warlingham Park School, the club focuses mainly on target archery and also occasionally holds clout shoots throughout the year.

Established in 1951, Warlingham Archery Club has a rich history and has been situated in its current location since 1996. The club prides itself on being open to all members of the community, regardless of ability, with membership available to individuals aged 11 to 81 and beyond.

For those interested in learning archery, the club offers Introduction to Archery courses in both spring and autumn, lasting approximately 12 hours in total. Additionally, Taster sessions are available during the summer, providing newcomers with a 2-hour introduction to the sport.

The club boasts a number of qualified archery coaches who guide participants through the course, which is predominantly hands-on and includes all necessary equipment. Young people aged 11 and above are welcome to join, although those under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the entire course. Warlingham Archery Club also caters to students undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh award.

Upon completion of the course, participants will have a strong understanding of safety rules, warm-up and cool-down procedures, shooting techniques, scoring methods, and archery etiquette. They will also be proficient in using correct form and technique to achieve accurate groupings of arrows in the target. Course graduates receive a Certificate of Competence, which allows them to apply for membership at the Club or any other Archery GB affiliated club.
