Waveney Valley Athletic Club

Waveney Valley Athletic Club, based in Lowestoft, is a road running club that also encompasses a growing athletic club. With over 390 members, the club prides itself on being happy, friendly, and social. More than half of the club's running members are ladies, and there are approximately 100 athletes within the club.

Waveney Valley Athletic Club warmly welcomes new members of all abilities, ranging from beginners to more serious runners. Those interested in road running can join one of the training evenings held in Oulton Broad or Beccles. For athletes, the club offers sessions at East Point Academy, with more details available in the Athletics section.

The Road Running Training Programme is updated periodically and offers training sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Tuesday sessions take place at Normanston Park in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft, with different groups meeting at 18:15 for an 18:30 start. On Wednesdays, members gather at Beccles Sports Centre on Ringsfield Road, Beccles, with specific groups meeting at 18:45 or 18:15 for a 19:00 or 18:30 start, respectively. Thursday sessions are held at Normanston Park, starting at 18:30 with an 18:15 meeting time.

The club caters to a variety of running abilities, from beginners to advanced, and ensures that new and inexperienced runners are mentored and supported throughout their journey. Senior road running training is organised by experienced runners with coaching abilities, and the club strives to provide valuable advice and assistance to those in the early stages of their running journey.
