

Wednesday Wellbeing Walkers is a sports club based in Sydney that aims to promote physical health and wellbeing through regular group walks. The club is open to individuals of all fitness levels and provides a supportive and inclusive environment for its members.
Led by experienced walk organiser Marinela, the group meets every Wednesday at 8:00 am for a duration of 60–75 minutes. The walks are conducted at a medium pace, allowing participants to enjoy their surroundings while also getting a good workout. Currently, the club boasts a membership of 68 individuals.
Wednesday Wellbeing Walkers is located in Wahroonga and the meeting point is Wahroonga Park, right in front of Café Patina. The park provides a beautiful starting point for the walks and participants can immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the area. Unfortunately, the walks are not dog-friendly and are not suitable for prams or wheelchairs.
The club is proudly supported by the National Heart Foundation of Australia and recognises the importance of walking as a form of exercise for maintaining a healthy heart. Regular walks have been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes by 30 to 40 percent. Additionally, walking can help manage weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels, as well as improve bone density, coordination, and balance.
Wednesday Wellbeing Walkers also offers healthcare professionals the opportunity to refer their patients to the club's structured and supportive walking programme. This programme complements the care provided by healthcare professionals and helps individuals meet national physical activity guidelines. It is designed to motivate and support participants on their fitness journey.
