- The Tuesday Session: This session takes place at Princes Park, specifically at the middle pathway at the end of McPherson St. next to the playground. It's held every Tuesday from 6-7pm and is suitable for recreational or long-distance runners. The session starts with a group warm-up run, followed by a brief stretch and a few strides. Participants then engage in efforts with recovery tailored to their individual abilities. The faster runners may have more intense efforts. The session concludes with an easy cool-down run and stretch, all within the one-hour timeframe.
- The Thursday Session: Held at the Collingwood Athletics Track, this session takes place on Thursdays and is divided into two categories: Junior/Middle Distance and Recreational/Long Distance. Similar to the Tuesday Session, participants start with a group warm-up run, stretch, and strides. They then proceed with efforts and recovery based on their abilities. The session concludes with an easy cool-down run and stretch. While most sessions are held on the track, some may take place in Yarra Bend Park during the summer for variety. Attendees can safely leave their bags in the club rooms.
- The Sunday Long Run: If you're looking for a longer and more scenic run, the Sunday Long Run is perfect for you. It begins at the Collingwood Athletics Track and happens every Sunday until participants finish. The group embarks on a run along the Yarra river trails and park land. Depending on pace, the group naturally splits into smaller groups. Participants can choose to turn back at any point as the long run distance varies. Rest assured, the group ensures that unfamiliar runners are taken care of. Distances also vary according to the time of the year, with experienced runners training for marathons covering distances of 30ks or more.
Vigor Fitness understands the importance of technique in running. That's why they offer Run Technique Sessions conducted by Liam himself. These sessions can accommodate 1–3 people and last for one hour. They take place at various locations, including Princes Park, Collingwood Athletics Track, or any place that works for the individual. The cost for one person is $100, and for two or more, it's $50 each. Liam also offers specific group sessions for training groups.
In these sessions, the focus is on improving technique, enhancing speed, and reducing the risk of injury. Participants will even be filmed with an iPad to provide immediate feedback as they watch themselves running. It's a great way to identify areas for improvement and make meaningful changes. The session involves drills and discussions to give participants plenty to work on and improve their running. If you're a new runner, this session is strongly recommended as it can greatly impact your speed and enjoyment of running.
