Welcome to Weir Riding Centre! We are a small, family-run horse riding centre located in the picturesque West Pennines in Lancashire. Our friendly and patient approach to sharing the love of horses and ponies has quickly made us a well-established part of the local community.
At Weir Riding Centre, our main goal is to teach people of all ages and abilities to develop a love and respect for horses and ponies, as well as the sport of horse riding. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned rider, we offer a range of private and semi-private lessons to cater to your individual needs. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the basics or help you refine your skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Children who are just getting started with horses and ponies can join us for our Pony Mornings. These sessions are held year-round on Saturday and Sunday mornings, as well as during school holidays. It's a great way for children to learn and interact with these wonderful animals. Don't forget to pack a lunch!
As an accredited Pony Club centre, we are proud to offer sessions to support members throughout their Pony Club journey. Our Pony Club sessions are held on various days and provide a fun and educational experience for young equestrians.
If you're visiting the area or simply interested in trying out a ride before committing to lessons, you can join us for a Hack. Our hacks are available six days a week in both summer and winter, and we can arrange a time that suits you. It's the perfect opportunity to explore the scenic West Pennines on horseback.
At Weir Riding Centre, safety is our top priority. We have implemented strict safety procedures and risk assessments in accordance with The British Horse Society's and government guidelines to provide a safe environment for both our staff and clients during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Please note that our maximum weight limit for riders is 14 stone. Riders will be weighed at our discretion to ensure we allocate the appropriate sized horse for you. To book any of our services, please call the yard between 9am to 5pm.
We also offer the option to celebrate your special occasions with us. You can host a Pony Party for your birthday or any other celebration. It's a unique and memorable way to spend time with friends and family.
We take pride in our well-maintained stables and the happiness of our students. We have received feedback from many satisfied parents and riders who have seen their children gain skills and confidence through our pony club and lessons.
