Wenlo RDA & Carriage Driving, located at Meadow School of Riding, Bowleys Barn Farm, Stanford Road, Normanton-on-Soar in Loughborough, is dedicated to providing horse riding, carriage driving, and horse care opportunities to both adults and children with physical and learning disabilities. This effort improves health, confidence, and self-esteem.
At the heart of Wenlo RDA is the encouragement of independence and skill development. Sharon, the Chair of Wenlo RDA, highlights that the school offers not just lessons but a variety of activities. Some riders compete in regional and national events organised by RDA UK, while others enjoy the scenic countryside rides. Many just love being around the horses, engaging in activities such as grooming and exploring sensory experiences.
The success of Wenlo RDA wouldn't be possible without its team of dedicated volunteers. Sharon is keen to point out that no previous horse or riding experience is necessary for volunteers, as full training is provided. Sharon also mentions the Annual General Meeting (AGM), open to all members of Wenlo RDA. Membership is free, but voting requires being a Voting Member. This year's AGM is set for November 27, 2023, at 7 pm in the Noshery.

Wenlo RDA doesn't miss the chance to celebrate its volunteers’ contributions. Three volunteers, Ava, Sharon, and Dawn, were recently recognised at RDA UK's annual awards ceremony by HRH The Princess Royal.
To support Wenlo RDA & Carriage Driving, donations are welcomed. The school is both a UK Registered Charity (1191961) and a member of the Riding for the Disabled Association Incorporating Carriage Driving (Registered Company No 5010395, Registered Charity Number 244108).
