Wensleydale RUFC

Wensleydale RUFC also embraces women's rugby with its Ladies XV, affectionately known as the “Heifers. ” The Ladies XV is a new squad that was established in 2021 and is embarking on their first season in a league. The team consists of players from across the dales who come together twice a week for training sessions. Players of all skill levels are welcome to join the team, and sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.

The club's dedication to developing young talent is evident through its juniors and minis sections. The age-grade rugby takes place on Sunday mornings, with Minis catering to children up to Under 8s who play tag rugby, and Juniors for Under 9s and above who engage in age-grade contact rugby. All the club's coaches are DBS checked and hold England RFU accreditation to ensure the safety and development of young players. Training and matches for juniors and minis are always scheduled for 10am on Sundays.

The club is led by a dedicated committee, which includes Chris Taylor as Chairman, who has been involved with the club since 2008 and took over as Chairman in 2020. Jim Mcrobert serves as the Vice Chairman and brings with him years of experience as a player, coach, and club secretary. Andy Mundy serves as the Honourable Secretary and plays a significant role in the smooth functioning of the club.
