Located just minutes away from Ponsonby and the Auckland CBD, West End Bowling Club is a charming, old school club situated on the sunny northern slopes of Herne Bay. As you step into our clubrooms at 9 Hamilton Road, you'll be greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. Come and admire our impressive trophy cabinet while enjoying a refreshing beer.
Whether you're a seasoned bowler or new to the sport, you can have a great time on our bowling green or even try your hand at a game of petanque. Our friendly club members will be there to provide guidance and ensure you feel right at home.
The Clubrooms and bar at 9 Hamilton Road are open on Friday nights from 5pm, and visitors are always welcome. If you're looking to host a function in 2023, please don't hesitate to enquire with us as we offer excellent event spaces for various occasions.
During daylight savings, we also have Social Bowls on Tuesday nights from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. It's a wonderful opportunity to socialise with fellow members and enjoy a friendly competition.
Our team at West End Bowling Club takes pride in maintaining our greens to a high standard. We have put a lot of effort into preparing them over the winter, and they are now ready for play. You can look forward to a smooth and enjoyable bowling experience.
Planning your events and meetings? Look no further! We have ample space available to accommodate your gatherings. Whether it's a corporate function or a workshop, our clubrooms provide the ideal setting.
Additionally, if you book with us, you have the freedom to organise your own catering or make use of our on-site BBQ and kitchen facilities. Our bar offers reasonably priced beverages, and please note that no BYO is allowed.
We have received great feedback from our patrons over the years, highlighting our club as a fantastic venue for social gatherings. Carlie and Dave, who organise a yearly bowling tournament with their local friends, have consistently praised our club for providing a fun and enjoyable experience.
For corporate functions, West End Bowling Club is the perfect venue. With our natural grass green, we can host a limited number of corporate events each week, usually scheduled on Thursdays or Fridays. We provide all the necessary equipment and even offer bowling lessons to kick off your event. Our clubrooms are fully equipped with a bar, kitchen, and pool table.
We can accommodate bookings of all sizes up to 65 people. Feel free to bring your own food or opt for catering, but please note that all beverages must be purchased from the bar.
Our pricing for groups of up to 65 people is $50 per head, covering the use of the bowling or petanque facilities, as well as access to the BBQ, kitchen, and clubrooms. Club room hire is available at a minimum of 3 hours for $300 + GST, with an additional $100 per hour for extra hours.

Full playing membership is priced at $135, while the first-year full playing membership is discounted at $60. For those who prefer a social membership, it is available at $60. Our season runs from October to September the following year.
