For those new to scuba diving, the club offers comprehensive training programmes to help you become a certified diver. With experienced instructors and state-of-the-art facilities, you'll receive the guidance and support needed to succeed in your scuba diving journey.
If you're already a trained scuba diver certified by PADI, BSAC, or another agency, joining the West Lancashire Sub Aqua Club presents an opportunity to further develop your skills and enhance your training. Club meetings are held every Tuesday evening at the Blackpool Light Craft Club on New South Promenade. Here, members gather to share their diving experiences, discuss upcoming trips, and foster a sense of camaraderie within the diving community.
To facilitate diving expeditions, the West Lancashire Sub Aqua Club boasts two dive boats. One is a 5. 25m Osprey Viper equipped with a powerful 115Hp Mariner Outboard, while the other is a 5. 5m Humber also outfitted with a 115Hp Mariner Outboard.
These boats ensure safe and efficient transport to dive sites, allowing members to explore the beautiful underwater landscapes with ease.
Membership to the club is open to divers from BSAC and other agencies, ensuring a diverse and inclusive community of underwater enthusiasts. Additionally, the West Lancashire Sub Aqua Club conducts training for new divers each spring, providing individuals with the opportunity to learn and grow as part of this thriving scuba diving community.
All pool training takes place at the Palatine Pool, offering a controlled environment for divers to practise their skills before venturing into open water. For open water training, the club utilises stunning locations such as Eccleston Delph, Capernwray, and the sea, providing a diverse range of diving experiences for all members.
To support their members' needs, the West Lancashire Sub Aqua Club offers free air fills through their two compressors located at the clubhouse. This ensures that divers have access to the necessary equipment to enjoy their underwater adventures to the fullest.
