Weston Youth Football Club, also known as WYFC, is Ross-on-Wye's newest youth football club providing opportunities for boys and girls of all abilities. The club prides itself on offering a safe and inclusive environment for young players to develop their skills and passion for the sport.
One of the key teams at WYFC is the U9 Boys team. Managed and coached by Craig Allen, with assistance from Paul Williams, this team trains on Tuesday evenings and plays matches on Saturdays. Their home ground is located at Hyde Orchard in Weston Under Penyard, Ross-on-Wye, HR9 7PA. The team proudly represents the club with their kit sponsored by MyClubPro.
Another prominent team at WYFC is the U13 Girls team, led by manager Kev Evans and supported by Jo McAusland. Training sessions for this talented group take place on Thursday evenings, and their matches are scheduled on Sundays. Like other teams at WYFC, the U13 Girls team plays their home games at Hyde Orchard, with MyClubPro sponsoring their kit.
WYFC also offers a programme called “Saturday Soccer” tailored to U7 boys and girls. These sessions are designed to provide young players with a fun and engaging introduction to the sport. Accredited coaches who are trained in first aid and safeguarding, as well as being DBS checked, run the sessions. The initial taster session is free, and subsequent sessions are available at a total price of 15 for a block of six training sessions.
In addition, WYFC accommodates younger players with mixed U6 and U7 teams. These teams participate in fixtures and results and represent the club proudly in their sponsored kit by MyClubPro.
The club also keeps its members and supporters informed through their website and regularly shares news updates. Some recent news includes the U8 team's victory at the Toros Tournament, as well as generous donations made by Sarah and Simon Davies. The club received essential training and match-day equipment from The Adam Stansfield Foundation, demonstrating the strong support and community spirit behind WYFC.
Weston Youth Football Club is excited to bring the joy of football to Ross-on-Wye and is committed to providing a positive and nurturing environment for young players to learn and excel in the sport they love.
