

The Westport Community Arena, located in the heart of Westport, offers a wide range of activities for the community to enjoy. Public skating is available on Fridays and Saturdays, with some Saturdays potentially cancelled due to special events (updates can be found on their Facebook page). The WTC Communications Centre within the arena is available for rentals for weddings, ball hockey, birthday parties, and more. The Friends of the Arena (FOTA) is an Advisory Committee of the Municipality of the Village of Westport, dedicated to upgrading the aging infrastructure of the arena.
FOTA has raised over $240,000 in donations towards their $320,500 “Wish List” of upgrades, including new lighting, upgraded washrooms, and more. FOTA is a charitable organization and can issue tax receipts for donations.
Donations to FOTA can be made by specifying that the payment is intended for FOTA and providing the necessary information for a tax receipt. Joel McCulloch serves as the Recreation Manager at the arena, with Chris Chisamore also involved in arena operations.
Mayor Robin Jones, who has been Mayor of the Municipality of the Village of Westport since 2014, plays a key role in the governance of the arena. Mayor Jones also serves on the United Counties of Leeds & Grenville Council and has been involved in various municipal associations, advocating for rural Ontario communities. With its range of activities, upgrades, and community involvement, the Westport Community Arena is a vibrant hub for residents and visitors alike.
