Upon receiving an invitation to become a member, the annual subscription fee is 150, payable in monthly instalments of 15 for those joining partway through the year. The origins of Weybridge Shuttles can be traced back to September 1998, when Elmbridge Adult Education ceased to offer intermediate badminton classes at Heathside School in Weybridge. In response, a group of passionate badminton players came together to establish the club, ensuring they could continue playing. In its inaugural year, Weybridge Shuttles had 18 members, and while some have moved on, four original members still remain. The initial membership fee was set at 100, but since Easter 2002, the club has been based at Fullbrook School, playing for 50 weeks per year.
The Weybridge Shuttles Badminton Club is led by a dedicated committee, with Chris serving as the chairman, Robert as the treasurer, and Martin as the secretary. Sanjay manages the membership, Rita and Alan oversee social events, Tamara maintains the club's website, and Sanjay also provides statistics.
