The Whelan School of Irish Dance, a contemporary dance club in Indooroopilly, is excited to promote an upcoming local dance event. This event is perfect for anyone who is interested in exploring the world of Irish dancing.
The Whelan School of Irish Dance offers classes for children aged 3 years and up in Brisbane's western suburbs. Regardless of your family's background, Irish dancing is an enjoyable experience for all. Not only will participants learn the skills of Irish dancing, but they will also have fun, improve their fitness, and form lasting friendships.
Anna Bittner, T.C.R.G., the founder of the school, has a deep passion for Irish dancing. Starting at the age of 10, she has achieved numerous accomplishments in the field. Now, she wants to share her love and knowledge of Irish dancing with the younger generation.
Attending dance lessons during childhood has various benefits. Not only do they offer fun, fitness and friendship, but they also contribute to the development of motor skills, coordination, self-confidence, and teamwork skills. It's a holistic experience that goes beyond just learning to dance.
Classes take place at St. Andrew's Anglican Church Hall in Indooroopilly on Mondays and Wednesdays during school terms. On Mondays, we have classes for New Beginners, Beginners, and Advanced Beginners & Primary. On Wednesdays, we have classes for Pre-Beginner, New Beginners, Beginners, Advanced Beginners & Primary, and Championship Level (by enquiry only).
The fees for classes vary depending on the level. Pre-Beginner & New Beginners cost $10 per term, while Advanced Beginner/Primary cost $10 per class. We are currently accepting enrolments for championship-level dancers, and class times will be advised based on age and ability.
This local dance event is a fantastic opportunity to witness the talent and hard work that our dancers put into their craft. We encourage everyone, regardless of their background, to come along and experience the joy of Irish dancing. So mark your calendars and join us for a memorable evening filled with incredible performances and great company!
