Wing Chun is a relatively young martial art that originated in southern China. According to legend, it was created by the Buddhist nun Ng Mui, who synthesised a compact form of Kung Fu to exploit weaknesses in other combat styles and give an advantage to smaller fighters. The style was named after Ng Mui's first student, Yim Wing Chun.
The school aims to pass on the knowledge of Wing Chun through a structured curriculum that focuses on six main subjects. The final subject is Theory, which encompasses the set of theories, principles, and mottos that underpin the Wing Chun system. Although it is the last subject that students understand, it is considered the most important.
