The Wong Sheung Kung Fu Club, located in Victoria BC, has been a staple in the community since its establishment in 1974. The club is proud to have the support of their 2024 sponsors, including Seaspan Victoria Shipyards and Showroom Designworks. The club is excited to announce the reveal of 4 new lions in February, with 3 lions awakening on February 11th at the Lunar New Year celebrations in Esquimalt. A special lion will also be revealed on February 8th, so be sure to stay tuned for updates.
The club's Lunar New Year performance schedule includes various private and public events throughout February, such as performances at Uptown Boulevard, Elements Casino, and the Victoria Royals Hockey game. The club will also be participating in the Lunar New Year parade and blessing of merchants in Victoria's Chinatown, organized by the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association.
Additionally, the club hosts events throughout the year, such as the Canada Day celebrations at the BC Legislature Grounds. The event features rattle drums, lion dances, and drumming for a better life. Organized by the Legacy 150 Celebrations Society, the Canada Day Drumming event aims to promote diversity and unity among Canadians from various cultures and backgrounds.
