The W. T. Booth Centennial Pool in St. Stephen is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike to cool down on hot summer days.
The main body of the pool spans 15m wide by 25m long, with a connected shallow beach entry section that includes three splash features and a water slide leading into the larger lap portion of the pool. Surrounding the pool is the main building, which houses indoor change rooms and several picnic tables and benches for relaxation.
Unfortunately, the pool had to close for the remainder of the 2023 season due to maintenance issues encountered during Hurricane Lee. Despite this setback, the staff at W. T. Booth Centennial Pool are grateful for a fantastic 2023 season and look forward to welcoming swimmers back in the summer of 2024.
Swimming lessons at the pool have officially ended for the summer of 2023, but interested individuals can stay updated on fall swimming lessons by visiting the Aquatic Courses & Swimming Lessons page on the website or following the Garcelon Civic Centre on Facebook. The Border Town Barracudas, the pool's outdoor summer swim team, operate from July to September with practices held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5PM to 6PM. Registration information can be found on the pool's website.
Despite the temporary closure, the W. T. Booth Centennial Pool remains a beloved community hub in St. Stephen, offering a variety of aquatic activities for all ages to enjoy.
