Welcome to YogAlign Yoga, a serene and inviting yoga studio located in the beautiful Mount Maunganui in New Zealand. At YogAlign, our mission is to guide and inspire individuals on their journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
Led by our experienced and passionate instructor, Leonie Main, YogAlign offers a unique and pain-free approach to yoga practise. Leonie, a Therapeutic YogAlign Instructor, Reiki Master, EFT Facilitator, Life Coach, NLP Practitioner, and Remote Healing Practitioner of the Bio-Energy Field & Consciousness, is dedicated to helping individuals find balance and harmony in all aspects of their lives.
YogAlign is not your typical yoga studio. Our practise focuses on optimal alignment using painless and safe body positions and poses. We believe that awareness and understanding of what you are doing and why are crucial to experiencing the powerful healing and self-reliance that yoga can offer. We emphasise the importance of listening to your body and provide tools and techniques to enhance self-awareness and self-healing.
In addition to practising yoga poses, YogAlign incorporates unique breathing techniques that tone the core and align posture from the inside out. We also teach self-massage techniques that stimulate blood flow, nourish tissues, and increase kinaesthetic awareness. We recognise the role of fascial freedom in our overall well-being and offer techniques to release and elongate the connective tissue web.
At YogAlign, we believe in the power of full-body flexibility and strength balance techniques. Our practise simultaneously increases the efficiency of muscle chains and enhances functional range of motion. We also utilise neuromuscular re-patterning techniques to encode aligned posture at the nervous system level. By activating the psoas/diaphragm connexion, we promote core-centred movement, enhanced breathing, organ support, and emotional balance.
Our approach to yoga goes beyond physical practise. We emphasise global body awareness and the ability to meditate in movement, directing consciousness to the present moment. Kindness, compassion, and non-judgement towards oneself and others are fundamental values in our studio. We strive for impeccable thoughts, speech, and actions, creating a positive and nurturing environment for everyone.
Aligned posture is at the heart of YogAlign. Naturally aligned posture opens up biological pathways that increase feelings of happiness, boosts confidence, and lowers fear, depression, and anxiety. It optimises breathing and movements, supports the optimal functioning of various body systems, and enhances overall well-being.
