Adelaide Taekwondo Academy

Adelaide Taekwondo Academy (ATA) is the leading martial arts and fitness club in Adelaide. It is run by Ruth Hock, a 6th Dan internationally qualified and experienced Taekwondo athlete, who is a true local champion of the art and a mother of two. ATA focuses on teaching confidence, self-defence, and discipline to children and juniors to prevent schoolyard bullying in a controlled manner. However, Taekwondo offers numerous health and wellbeing benefits for all ages, including physical fitness, flexibility, endurance, mental strength, and a sense of community.

ATA maintains very high skills standards as shown by their technical and sparring competition results, ensuring physical and mental development for all members. Individuals of all levels of ability, ages 4 and up, are welcome to join and learn lifelong martial arts skills.

ATA offers various training classes for different age groups. The Mini Rangers class is designed for children aged 4 to 6 years old. It focuses on developing their listening and motor skills through basic Taekwondo concepts and movements. The Little Warriors class is for children aged 7 to 9 years old, while the Warriors class is for those aged 10 to 12 years old.

For teenagers aged 13 to 17, there is a dedicated Teens class. Adults aged 18 and above can also participate in Taekwondo training. There are also separate Olympic Sport/Competition and Technical/Poomsae classes, which are invite only.

ATA has two club locations: Norwood (HQ) at 25 Sydenham Rd, and Marleston at 264 Richmond Rd. Training classes are held Monday to Friday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, and Saturdays from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

ATA proudly accepts Government Sports Vouchers for primary and middle school children. These vouchers allow children to save $100 on their training fees.
