PCYC Carindale was built in 1998 as part of the redevelopment of the Woolloongabba Precinct which included an existing PCYC that was knocked down to make way for the now Gabba Cricket Grounds. Its catchment area covers a diverse population from south east Brisbane to the Gateway and beyond. The team of passionate and committed staff and volunteers work tirelessly to actively engage youth in structured activities and programs. Surplus income generated via club operations is reinvested into ongoing youth programs focused on leadership, self-esteem and crime prevention. PCYC Carindale hosts over 30 different structured and affordable activities which predominantly cater for youth aged as young as four months old up to teenagers and young adults. The clubs focus is not just on youth but families and as such, promotes parental involvement in every aspect. The Club has a strong affiliation with its local community and through its active youth group, regularly supports external organisations such as Carina Senior Citizens, Rotary, Lions and Neighbourhood Watch. Our youth group participates regularly in community projects such as “Clean Up Australia Day”, “Adopt A Road” campaign, and local Council Revegetation and Environmental sustainability projects. We are also proud to boast a number of State and National champions in the fields of Judo, Tae Kwon Do and Trampoline and in 2004, PCYC Carindale Trampoline Coach, Lesley Daly, represented Australia at the Olympic Games in Athens where she performed admirably for country and club. In September 2011, the club endured a debilitating fire which affected its ability to deliver its programs and activities. Thankfully, with great support from all levels of Government, QBE Insurance and the community, the club reopened in April 2012 and is again, a fantastic venue and operation that meets the needs of its local community.
