The Central Districts Cycling Club, founded in the late 1950s, has a rich history in promoting and supporting cycling in South Australia. Initially, the club focused on a junior tour catering to riders under 16 and held races in the northern districts and Barossa Valley. With a strong track focus, the club even had its own track at Ramsay Park, known for its fast and exciting rides. Although the track has since been handed over to the Elizabeth City Soccer Club, remnants of its presence can still be seen on Womma Rd.
In recent years, the club has expanded its offerings to include a Junior Tour open to riders aged Under 13 to Under 17, which has gained popularity across Australia. Building upon this success, the club introduced the Senior Tour in 2011, creating another competitive event for riders aged 19 and above. With a large membership area that covers the northern and eastern areas of Adelaide plains and the hills, Central Districts Cycling Club welcomes both competitive and recreational riders.
Whether you are a triathlete looking to improve your road racing skills or someone with a keen interest in cycling, becoming a member of Central Districts Cycling Club offers a sense of camaraderie and opportunities for involvement in the sport.
