Collaroy Swimming Club is a vibrant and inclusive sports club located in Sydney, Australia. With a focus on fostering a love for swimming in participants of all ages and skill levels, the club offers a range of activities and events for both kids and adults.
During the summer swimming season, which has recently commenced, members can participate in races every Sunday morning and Wednesday night. The races are open to swimmers of all ages and standards, providing a welcoming environment for beginners and experienced swimmers alike. The club particularly encourages junior swimmers to join and enjoy the sport alongside their peers.
Registration for races can be done online for existing members, while new members are required to visit the clubhouse prior to their first swim to enter into events. It is important to arrive by 9:45am to ensure prompt commencement of races at 10:00am. Each week, the club offers freestyle races and two other events, as well as special veterans' races for participants aged 30 and over.
Furthermore, Collaroy Swimming Club is a proud member of the WASA (Warringah Aquatic Sports Association). The association holds several carnivals throughout the season, primarily for junior swimmers. Competitors and spectators need to pay a small fee to enter the Warringah Aquatic Centre where the events take place. To remain eligible for club events and championships, swimmers and their families must pay their membership fees within two weeks of commencing swimming. Points towards championships will begin to accrue from the first day, with a grace period of two weeks. Membership payments can be made through direct bank transfer to Collaroy Swimming Club or using EFTPOS or cash at the clubhouse.
Looking ahead, the club has exciting events lined up, including a 200m Freestyle and 100m or 200m Medley race on Wednesday, November 8th, at 7:30pm. Races begin promptly, so participants are advised to register online or arrive at the pool no later than 7:15pm.
On Sunday, November 12th, at 10:00am, the club will be holding a Freestyle Breaststroke Parent and Child or Brace race.
