The Cunningham District Bowls Association (CDBA) is a sports club located in Brisbane, Australia. They proudly serve the district and are dedicated to promoting and organising lawn bowls events and competitions in the area.
One of the notable additions introduced by CDBA in 2022 was the Open Gender Saturday Afternoon Pennant from Div. 2 downwards. This created an extra division with 5 additional sides and saw the participation of 137 ladies in the sport. This initiative aims to provide equal opportunities and encourage more women to engage in the sport of lawn bowls.
CDBA frequently updates their website and social media platforms to keep members and interested parties informed about important news and upcoming events. Information about the district's novice singles championships and other competitions, along with the results and winners, is regularly shared on their platforms. They also celebrate the achievements of their members, such as Cohen Litfin, who was selected as an Emerging Jackaroo and won the Burnside (NZ) Invitation Pairs tournament.
The club actively encourages and supports new bowlers by providing them with great opportunities to gain experience and improve their skills. The novices singles championships, with 24 players representing 6 clubs, offer a platform for new bowlers to showcase their talent and passion for the sport.
In addition to organising events, CDBA also provides resources and useful information to members and interested individuals. They recently shared a video that detailed the latest updates to the BowlsLink system, including significant security upgrades, as well as information about the Bowls Now app and navigating it effectively.
