The Dive Industry of Victoria Association (DIVA) is a sports club based in Melbourne, Australia. As the representative organisation of the Victorian diving industry, DIVA serves as the diving community's voice on issues affecting the industry and the diving environment in Victoria.
DIVA's mission is to promote the sport of diving in Victoria and support those involved in the diving industry. The association achieves this by promoting the benefits of diver training and continuing education, promoting Victoria as a diving tourist destination nationally and internationally, and encouraging divers to become active in protecting their diving environment through underwater clean up events and marine pest collection dives.
Safety and environmental concerns are also a priority for DIVA. The association educates the public on safety and environmental issues and acts on concerns raised by the public or those involved in the industry that may impact diving in Victoria. DIVA also encourages the adoption of high levels of safety standards through the use of the Victorian Code of Practise for diving activities and promotes moral and ethical conduct among its members.
DIVA engages in liaison with government bodies and authorities on marine conservation, environmental issues, and other matters that impact the diving industry in Victoria. Additionally, the association provides a source of information and assistance to those involved in the Victorian diving industry.
The committee members of DIVA include President Luke English of RedBoats, Vice President Kat Vcelka of Academy of Scuba, Secretary Peter Kafrouni of Dive and Dive, Treasurer Corry Allan of DGA, and committee members Ben Claydon of Aquatic Adventures Rowville and Steve Dale of Extreme Watersport.
Through its activities and advocacy, DIVA aims to promote the growth and development of the diving industry in Victoria while prioritising safety, environmental conservation, and the well-being of divers.
