Mylonas is the founder, chairman, and chief instructor of Kempo Genbu Ryu International Karate Organisation - Burwood. Located in Sydney, Australia, Kempo Genbu Ryu is recognised as Australia's leading Kempo group. Although their Dojo is based in Burwood, they have a strong support network across the city and are actively involved in the Australian Karate community.
The style of Kempo practised at Kempo Genbu Ryu is a Japanese Kempo style, with a focus on maintaining the traditions and cultures of Japanese Karate in their teaching and Dojo culture. Kempo Genbu Ryu takes the title of the most effective self-defence style seriously and understands the need to train hard and smart to uphold this honour. As the Parent Art of Karate, Kempo is highly regarded by the organisation, and they maintain a regime of sincere Budo-style discipline in their Dojo network.
In addition to self-defence techniques, Kempo Genbu Ryu has been highly effective in teaching kickboxing. They have developed their own style of kickboxing called “Soeno Kickboxing,” named after Japan's greatest kickboxing and karate champion, Sosui “Yoshiji Soeno. ” Soeno is not only Kancho Peter Mylonas' mentor and teacher but also his 'big brother' in the Budo/Karate community. Kempo Genbu Ryu also incorporates Brazilian Jiu Jitsu into their grappling programme, which covers both ground and stand-up combat.
This grappling programme, led by grappling master “Fabricio Mendoca,” is known as Kempo Genbu Ryu Broz Grappling.
