Knox Roadrunners

Knox Roadrunners is a prominent sports club located in Melbourne, Australia. With a strong emphasis on community, support, and camaraderie, our club has become a hub for runners of all abilities who thrive in a social atmosphere while pursuing their personal running goals. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a beginner looking to take your first steps into the running world, Knox Roadrunners provides the perfect platform for you to grow and excel.

Founded in February 1987, our club has stood the test of time, with some of our original members still running regularly with us. Currently, we have approximately 100 members ranging in age from 20 to 70+ years, ensuring a diverse and inclusive community. We are proud to have seen a significant increase in female runners in recent years, making up around 40% of our membership.

Every Saturday morning, bright and early (unless a pandemic interferes), we gather as a group to tackle a course ranging from 10 to 35 kilometres. For those who prefer shorter distances, there are always options to tailor the run to individual needs. Our club boasts a wide range of abilities, with some members capable of completing sub 3-hour marathons, while others are beginners or recovering athletes running at a slower pace. We prioritise the sense of fellowship over individual performance but always make sure to celebrate each other's achievements.

Beyond our weekly runs, Knox Roadrunners also organises various events and races throughout the year to keep members engaged and motivated. From fun runs to marathons, there's something for everyone to participate in and enjoy. We believe that running shouldn't only be a means to maintain physical fitness but also a source of joy, discipline, and personal growth.

Conveniently located in the Knox area, our club has become a go-to destination for runners within the community. However, we are thrilled to see an increasing number of members joining us from further afield, spreading the sense of camaraderie even wider.
