Safety is a top priority for the club, and they have an enviable safety record due to their “Member Only” access to the weir. This makes it an ideal place for young skiers and racing enthusiasts to develop their skills. All members are required to comply with both the State Boating Regulations and Club Rules to ensure the continued safety of everyone.
Situated on 9 acres of land adjoining Melton Reservoir, the MRSBC provides a fully equipped boating and skiing facility. The facility includes a powerboat racing course, slalom ski course, competition ski jump, landscaped gardens, modern playground equipment, a two-story clubhouse, change rooms with hot showers, picnic facilities, gas barbecues, toilets, wheelchair accessible toilets and change rooms, electric boat launching ramps, a multi-bay floating pontoon, and ample car parking areas.
Quick facts about the club include its establishment in 1957, its location 32 km west of Melbourne, its affiliation with various boating associations, and its access to over 5 kilometres of water with a large docking area for 18 boats. The club also recently installed a new slalom course and is repairing the ski jump.
The club encourages members, their families, and friends of all ages to make use of their facilities. It is essential to follow facility etiquette when multiple boat users are present, taking turns with six passes (runs) and queuing at the club.
