Nightcliff Football Club is looking for great things this season, and we are pretty excited with our new and current players. We are also very excited to be welcoming our new premier League Coach Troy Coates. Many of you will already be familiar with Troy as a player of our club and also the Nichols Medal Winner in 2011/12 season. Troy has been coaching Kerang Football Club in the Bendigo League and is a successful topship coach winning the past four Grand Finals with Kerang.
Troy also broke a five year drought as the winning coach of the Central Murray League team in the AFL Victoria Country Championships this year. He also won the Player of the Year award for the Central Murray Football League last season as well as the Leading Goal kicker. So we are very excited and confident that Troy will take us to the next level. Please make him welcome when you see him around the club over the next few months.
With the success of last season, having eight teams out of twelve in the Grand final, winning three leadingship flags, we are excited about the 2016/17season. We will have thirteen teams participating this year with the inclusion of an Under 18's Youth Girls team.
We also welcome all our sponsors, those who have been with us for the long haul and those who have joined us recently.
Thank you also to all the many volunteers old and new who have once again put their hand up to help out where needed. Without these fantastic people, and the many hours they give, the club and your teams simply would not be able to operate. Volunteers are still needed in all grades, so if you can cut oranges, do the time keeping, run water, wash jumpers or anything that may help, please go and see your team officials and let them know. You will be welcomed with open arms!
To all the players who make up our great club, good luck, play fair, put in the hard yards on the training track, and you will be rewarded. We hope many of you will use this as a pathway to greater things.
GO TIGERS.... ROAR!!!
