The Queensland Police Pistol Club Inc. (QPPC) is a sports club located in Brisbane City, Australia. It was originally established in 1963 as the Pistol Activities Section of the Queensland Police Rifle Club by a group of officers seeking to improve their knowledge and skill in relation to their Service-related handguns. The QPPC has since become a part of the Australian Police Pistol Association and participates in annual championship events hosted by state and territory police pistol clubs across the country.
The main focus of the QPPC is the Australian Police and Service Match (APSM), which is a marksmanship event consisting of 90 rounds fired across several stages ranging in distance from 50 metres to 7 metres. This match is contested at the National Championship level. In addition to the APSM, the QPPC also offers the opportunity to participate in more dynamic pistol shooting disciplines such as 'Practical Pistol' and 'Action Match'.
Membership to the QPPC is restricted to members of the Queensland Police Service, family members of members of the Queensland Police Service, retired and previous sworn members of the Queensland Police Service, members of other law enforcement/emergency service agencies, and other individuals at the discretion of the QPPC Committee of Management who may be considered for associate or honorary membership. The club also extends membership to civilian members of the Queensland Police Service and immediate family members of QPS employees.
For police officers and civilians interested in joining the QPPC, a New Member Development programme is conducted every second Sunday. This programme provides prospective members the opportunity to meet current members and participate in an introductory shoot. Additionally, the club offers advice and assistance in relation to the Weapons Licence application process and membership to the QPPC.
The QPPC Range is open for normal use and bookings, and range restrictions may apply. Hand sanitiser is available at the range, and 1. 5m social distancing rules must be followed in adherence to the QPPC COVID plan. Members are advised not to attend the range if they are ill or have any symptoms of COVID-19.
Range bookings can be made by both law enforcement agencies and QPPC members.
