Welcome to Samurai Karate Kensington! Samurai Karate Kensington is a sports club located in Melbourne, Australia, offering training in the traditional Japanese martial art of Shukokai Karate. With a lineage dating back to the teachings of Senseis' Kawata, Tani, to Mabuni, our association is established in Australia since 1980 and is affiliated with Japan.
At Samurai Karate Kensington, we are dedicated to providing a dynamic, explosive, and powerful Martial Art experience for men, women, and children of all ages. Led by Shihan Darren Olsen, a highly respected 7th Dan and the Australian Chief Instructor, our team of highly qualified instructors is recognised all over the world for their expertise and knowledge in Shukokai Karate.
Our karate schools offer classes for all ages and abilities, catering to both beginners and advanced practitioners. Whether you are looking to learn self-defence, improve fitness and flexibility, or simply develop discipline and confidence, our training programmes are designed to support personal development in a safe, positive, and rewarding environment.
In addition to traditional Shukokai Karate, Samurai Karate Kensington also offers development in Sports Karate. We have a proud history of producing National and International Champions in this discipline.
