Welcome to Shaolin Monk Martial Arts North Parramatta, a sports club dedicated to preserving the teachings of Traditional Shaolin Kung Fu. With a lineage tracing back to the 30th Generation Grand Master Shi SuXi, Great Master Shi DeFon, and Master Brett Xing Wu Russell, the club is committed to upholding the pure lineage of Shaolin.
At Shaolin Monk Martial Arts, the philosophy revolves around four main aspects of Shaolin: Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Chi Kung (Qi Gong), and Meditation. These four disciplines are essential in cultivating one's body, mind, and spirit, with the goal of becoming a better person for themselves and others. Training in the ways of Shaolin can be described as action meditation, seeking enlightenment through the experiential practise of movement and action.
The club firmly believes in the unity of body and mind, as represented by the famous Chan saying, “Chan Quan Yi Ti”, meaning Chan and Martial Arts are one. Martial Arts is used as a means to master Chan and attain enlightenment.
Shaolin Monk Martial Arts holds various media events, including impressive demonstrations of Tai Chi, Kung Fu, and Weapons. These events offer an opportunity for spectators to witness the power and beauty of Shaolin Martial Arts firsthand. Following the demonstration, a Q&A session allows attendees to interact with the instructors and learn more about the art.
With 13 schools located throughout Australia and in Germany, Shaolin Monk Martial Arts has a widespread presence. The North Parramatta location is just one of the many schools where students can receive training from experienced instructors. The club has a rich lineage that includes the 30th Generation Grand Master Shi SuXi, who was the former president of the Shaolin Temple and an esteemed figure in both martial arts and Chan Buddhism. His disciple, Great Master Shi DeFon, has continued his legacy and furthered his skills in Shaolin Kung Fu and Shaolin Medicine. Great Master DeFon comes from a family with a long history in Kung Fu, with both his grandfather and great-grandfather being Shaolin fighting monks.
