The club was established in 1993 by a group of dog trainers from nearby clubs, many of whom still participate regularly in Club events. A committee of elected club members looks after the business side of the club, and we became incorporated with the Canine Control Council QLD (CCCQ) in 1995. We are affiliated with the CCC(Q) which is the governing body for most of the state’s dog obedience and training clubs. This affiliation allows us to host Obedience trials at which handlers and their dogs can compete in Obedience and competitions under the rules devised by the Australian National Kennel Club (ANKC).
Competitors have the opportunity to not only win trophies and sashes, but also to attain nationally recognised titles for their dogs. A dog handler must be a CCCQ member to compete in these events.
Our instructors come from a wide range of backgrounds and between them own a multitude of dog breeds. They give their time to the club on a voluntary basis. They have a love of dogs and enjoy sharing their knowledge with others as well as spreading the message of responsible dog ownership.
