Stagecraft Performing Arts is a sports club located in Melbourne. Established in 2013, it has quickly become known as the go-to studio for all things dance, performance, musical theatre, stagecraft, acting, and singing. The club prides itself on providing students with a range of opportunities to express themselves creatively, build confidence, and develop their talents.
Stagecraft offers classes in various dance styles, including ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, tap, and acrobatics. The club's acrobatics coaches are qualified by The Acrobatic Dance Association and undergo ongoing training to ensure they deliver top-notch instruction. For ballet, Stagecraft follows the esteemed Cecchetti Ballet Syllabus, which is recognised worldwide. The principal ballet teacher, Mrs.
Anne Chan, is highly experienced and has been with Stagecraft for seven years. The club's qualified Cecchetti Ballet teachers are in an elite class due to their ongoing self-studies and examinations every two years.
The teaching staff at Stagecraft are all talented and qualified in their respective genres. They hold Working with Children and First Aid certificates, ensuring the safety and well-being of the students. The club takes pride in prioritising the safety of children in dance and has been accredited as an Official Award-winning Studio for the Ready Set Dance and Ready Set Move programmes.
Stagecraft offers a full variety of the arts, including music, maestro, dance, acting, musical theatre, and acrobatics. In addition to regular programmes for children, they also offer preschool and kinder programmes such as Mini Acro and Beveridge Ballet. They cater to students of all ages, from walking age to adults, and strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.
At Stagecraft, students are not just taught dance and performing arts skills; they are encouraged to support and respect one another. The club fosters a sense of family and empowerment, nurturing students to believe in themselves and follow their dreams. Whether the students' goals are casual or professional, Stagecraft is dedicated to helping them achieve their full potential.
The club offers a range of packages and classes to suit different needs and aspirations. Students can choose to become triple threat performers, leaders, teachers, or simply build confidence and have fun. They offer classes for excellence, casual enjoyment, fitness, and now, specially designed confidence booster classes.
Stagecraft is continually evolving and expanding its offerings. They have recently introduced new classes, including boys-only breakdance and hip hop, mini acro, baby ballet, yoga, and adult tap and jazz. They have also introduced BubFit Beveridge, a programme for parents with prams, and new sports and mini circus programmes that focus on motor skills, balance, memory, creativity, and coordination. All of these programmes are designed to provide fun and engaging activities for the whole family.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Stagecraft has successfully adapted by offering online training and development programmes. This experience has helped students grow in strength, resilience, and a positive attitude. In December 2021, Stagecraft held its first performance with an audience since 2019, offering students the opportunity to reconnect with performing in front of a live audience. The show was a resounding success, showcasing the students' talent and hard work.
Stagecraft Performing Arts is a place where all students are equal, and everyone has a chance to dance. With its excellent faculty, diverse range of classes, and commitment to nurturing students' confidence and talent, Stagecraft is a destination for anyone looking to explore and excel in the performing arts.
