Sydney Gliding

Sydney Gliding is a small friendly gliding club that has been operating since the 1960s. The club operates from Camden Airport, located about 50 km from Sydney. Our aircraft are meticulously maintained to the highest standards and are kept in a hangar alongside the glider strip. Some of our members even own their own gliders.

Sydney Gliding is proud to be accredited by the Gliding Federation of Australia (GFA) and has a strong reputation for over 50 years of safe flying.

For the safety of our operation, there is a strict 100 kg weight limit for all Sydney Gliding aircraft. As such, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone weighing more than 100 kg or compromising the safety of our operation. Please note that no refunds will be given in such cases. Additionally, participants must be over 18 years of age, and no prior experience is necessary.

Gliding is highly dependent on weather conditions. Therefore, operations may be cancelled or curtailed if the conditions are unsuitable or change throughout the day. To ensure the weather conditions are suitable and that we are operating, it is essential that you call the club on 0412 145 144 at 9am on the day of your flight. If conditions are deemed suitable, the duty instructor will arrange a mutually convenient time with you or rebook for another day.

Please be aware that weather conditions often vary significantly between Sydney city and Camden.

We operate from Camden Airport, which is approximately fifty kilometres southwest of Sydney's city centre. The airport provides a convenient and picturesque location for gliding activities.

Your briefing and flight will be conducted one-on-one with a qualified instructor. However, spectators are more than welcome to join, and there will be other club members and passengers on the airfield, especially on days with good weather.
