About
Sydney University golf club is one of the oldest uni clubs in Australia. Whether you’re a single marker or a beginner golfer, Sydney University Golf Club offers the opportunity to play competitive and social golf at highly discounted rates. This year, Eastlakes and the Coast will be our main spot for rounds, be they competitive or social.
It is important to note that, An official golf handicap is not required for competition, and all golfers are encouraged to participate and compete. Our consistent practise/tuition nights run by the club’s low marker members at Moore Park Driving Range are a great way to receive support as a beginner or as more experienced player wanting to improve your game off the course.
In conjunction with our regular competition rounds at St Michaels and the Coast, the golf club participates in a range of high level competition in Australia and Internationally.
The club has had strong representation at the Eastern Uni-games and Australian Uni-Games, with the AUG team winning the Pennant in 2015 at Sanctuary Cove GC on the Gold Coast.
Furthermore, the club also participates in the Boyd Quaich Invitational event, held at the home of golf, The Old Course, St Andrews Scotland. In 2016 club President Hunter Hordern represented the club at the event, shooting consecutive 75’s to miss the cut by 1 shot. Regardless of the result, representing the club at such an event is an honour, as USYD is the only Australian University with consistent representation at the event.
