About
The Outdoor Education Group grew from the “The Outdoor Activities Group”, which was formed in 1984 by three canoeing instructors, Jeff Adair, Leanne Guy and Tony Pammer. Jeff, Leanne, and Tony were passionate about instilling resilience, character, compassion and relational ability in young people through the use of outdoor experiences as an educational medium.
Now, more than 30 years on, The Outdoor Education Group continues to build and develop purpose designed camps, invest in the highest quality staff, training, and equipment and engage in extensive research in a broad range of fields – all aimed at improving the depth of the educational experience of our participants, be they from schools or community groups.
Our size allows us to support dedicated risk management, in-house training and curriculum development teams. The Outdoor Education Group provides training in Cert IV and Diploma courses as well as Internships. We work in partnership with training providers such with training providers Wodonga TAFE in Victoria and Western Institute TAFE in New South Wales to deliver industry leading vocational courses.
We operate school outdoor education programmes across Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, with expeditions also taking place in the Northern Territory, Tasmania, and Queensland. Programmes run from one-day to four-week expeditions and typically involve activities such as bushwalking, canoeing, cycling, sea kayaking or rock climbing.
