Warragul & Drouin Pistol Club (WDPC) is a non-profit sports club located in Baw Baw Shire, specifically at 56 Greenshields Road, Drouin. The club is situated in a tranquil bush setting just outside Drouin, covering approximately 7 acres of land. Established in 1976, the club has been continuously operating and providing a wide range of competitive match shooting events as well as recreational target shooting opportunities.
As a non-profit organisation, WDPC is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who make up the Committee of Management. The club aims to benefit its members by promoting knowledge and skill in safe pistol shooting and competitive target pistol shooting. To ensure the smooth running of the club, members are also expected to participate in occasional working bees.
WDPC is affiliated with the Victorian Amateur Pistol Association (VAPA), which governs the sport in various ways. This affiliation allows the club to organise and participate in postal competition events, further enhancing the opportunities for its members.
The club boasts a range of facilities to cater to the different shooting disciplines. These facilities include a large indoor Air Pistol Shooting Range, a 25m Shooting Range, a 50m Plates/Shooting Range, a Service Shooting Range, a Practical Shooting Range, and a substantial clubhouse with a car park.
Flexibility is a key feature of WDPC, as members have flexible access to the shooting ranges for target shooting purposes. The clubhouse and shooting ranges are open every Saturday afternoon, providing members with ample opportunities to practise and refine their skills.
WDPC caters to a diverse membership base and is considered family-friendly. The club actively encourages membership from individuals aged 12 years and up, ensuring that the sport is accessible to a wide range of people. The club recognises the importance of inclusivity and promotes an environment that is welcoming to all.
